{Abstract}

In the Wisdom Method™ 95 hour Youth Yoga Teacher Training you will learn how to safely teach yoga to children from toddlers to teens. Taught in 6 interrelated though independent weekend intensives, this program will give you the skills to apply the teachings of yoga for youths of all ages. Geared towards parents, schoolteachers, yoga teachers, coaches, and anyone who works with children, this program will provide you with a solid foundation to introduce yoga and yoga lifestyle concepts into a variety of settings: from school classrooms to your own home. Modules are tailored to age groups so you may choose the ages you most feel called to serve, from toddlers to teens. Full attendance at each module is required to register with the Yoga Alliance as a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher.

There are 2 Levels of certification {and 3 tracks for continuing education}:

LEVEL I :: Modules 1-3 are required and graduates will receive a certification in Children’s and Youth Yoga from the Wisdom Method School of Yoga.

LEVEL II :: all Modules are required and you will be eligible to register with the Yoga Alliance upon completion of Modules 1-6. You will receive a certification in Children’s and Youth Yoga Teacher and Family Yoga Specialist from the Wisdom Method School of Yoga.

2 FOUNDATION modules

Module 1: Foundations of Youth Yoga {20 hours}

Module 2: Partner Yoga + Imaginative Play for Families + Youth Yoga Teachers {10 hours}

4 AGE-SPECIFIC modules {CEUs provided}

Module 3: Children’s Yoga Basics {20 hours}

Module 4: Yoga for Tweens, {15 hours}

Module 5: Confident Teen Yoga, {15 hours}

Module 6: Itty Bitty yoga + Mommy/Baby yoga {7 hours}

Modules 1-3 comprise Level I. Modules 1-6 comprise Level II.

Breathing practices, anatomy, imaginative play, chanting/singing, partner yoga activities, meditation techniques, and teaching methodology are included in the program are included as well.

 

{Certification Tracks}

there are 3 training tracks:

Track 1 is for yoga teachers who want to specialize in children’s yoga or educators/coaches but do not wish to register with the Yoga Alliance OR educators/coaches/parents who want to share yoga with children and youths:

Level I, Certified Children’s and Youth Yoga Teacher: 50 hours

Track 2 is for registered yoga teachers who want to specialize in children’s and youth yoga AND want to register with the Yoga Alliance as a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher

OR educators/coaches/parents who want to share yoga with children and youths:

Level II, Certified Children’s and Youth Yoga Teacher and Family Yoga Specialist: Level I {50 hours} + 37 contact hours + 8 hours outside course work = 95 hours

Track 3 is for parents, coaches, educators, or yoga teachers who want to share yoga with a particular group: 

You are welcome to take the modules that fit the age range you want to work with or that helps you feel confident using yoga, mindfulness, and imaginative play as a teaching and learning tool

Itty Bitty/Mommy and me {7 hours}

Children’s, Teens, or Tweens {15 hours each}

Partner Yoga and Imaginative Play for Families + Youth Yoga teachers {10 hours}

{Program Outcomes}

The Wisdom Method Youth Yoga teacher training teaches instructors how to teach all ages of youth yoga in a fun, safely sequenced class. This program will teach you all of the limbs of yoga, including ethics, self-care, poses, conscious breathing, and mindfulness. 

Outcome measures & competencies include, but are not limited to

*learning to teach asana appropriate for each development stage including using age-appropriate demonstration and cues

*constructing age-appropriate class plans

*sequencing & partner assists for youth yoga

*mantras, meditations, & sing-a-longs for youth

*relaxation training for youth yoga & developmentally appropriate Yoga Nidra

*learning childhood development as a representation of the stages of spiritual growth and the chakra system

*an understanding of the anatomy the developing child at each stage of childhood– including gender differences & special alignment concerns, hormonal changes, and structural-mechanical shifts

*differentiate between asana, mediations, and pranayama best suited for the developmental stages of pregnancy and how to teach these to children

*understanding the US model of childhood/adult interactions

*using yoga asana, pranayama, and meditation to facilitate self-efficacy, body awareness, & confidence in youths

*behavior management, teaching strategies, & methodology for youth yoga

*intro to family yoga, partner yoga, & mommy and me yoga {Level II only}

*the business of youth yoga: using your newly acquired skill set to serve

Full Payment: $1000, due 90 days before training begins

Payment plan*: $1200: Deposit, $300 + 3 payments of $300 {*this option available until 30 days prior to training start date; Individual module rates apply thereafter}

Payment plan schedule: Deposit due with application/registration, additional payments every 30 days with the final payment due by the first day of training.

Full Payment: $740, due 90 days before training begins

Payment plan*: $900: Deposit, $300 + 2 payments of $300 {*this option available until 30 days prior to training start date}

Payment plan schedule: Deposit due with application/registration, additional payments every 30 days with the final payment due by the first day of training.

individual modules are $22 per credit hour

{Cancellation Policy}

The Wisdom Method School of Yoga operates on an Informed Buyer Policy. We make every effort to be transparent with training requirements, dates, and expectations and will happily set up a Skype interview to answer any questions before you register. In fact, we prefer to interview our candidates before registration to confirm the best for the school, the educator, and the certification candidate.

Because of this, refunds are not given for trainings UNLESS the training is cancelled without rescheduling; in most cases, however, training in rescheduled.

In the event the training does not meet its minimum required for attendance, the training will be rescheduled and all fees will be transferred to the future date. In certain cases, training fees may be transferred to future training with the Wisdom Method School of Yoga or Kellie Adkins.
