Yin and Restorative Yoga Foundations

February 6, 2015 @ 8:00 am - February 9, 2015 @ 5:00 pm

| $800

The Yin and Restorative Yoga Foundations 40 hour course covering the powerful medicine of Yin yoga, Restorative yoga and mindfulness meditation. In this course we will cover the Water phase Yin sequence, Restorative yoga therapeutic applications and using meditation within the postures to enrich the experience. Weaving together the physical postures with attention to the inner mindscape enriches the practice of Yin yoga, allowing practitioners to experience the freedom of mindful awareness, active attention, and integrated healing.

Unique in this Yin yoga training is the emphasis on reshaping the connective tissue to develop more freedom in movement and comfort in stillness. As such, we will look at body posture, postural archetypes, and posture in action {“acture”}, then apply the Yin yoga postures as good medicine to initiate change throughout the entire embodied energy system. Mock case studies, self-directed inquiry, and practical application of concepts are integral parts of the full training.

This course is open to all qualified yoga teachers who would like to enrich their understanding of Yin and Restorative yoga. We give preference to those who wish to attend the full 120-hour training. Those who attend the full 120-hours of Yin training – Foundations of Yin Yoga (20 hour), Foundations of Restorative Yoga (20 hours), Yin Yoga and Mindfulness as Therapy I (40 hours) and Yin Yoga as Mindfulness as Therapy II (40 hours) – with the Wisdom Method School of Yoga will receive a certification in Yin Yoga and may register on the national directory for Yin teachers.
